There are two sides of homeopathy

The real power with homeopathy is in constitutional prescribing. To decide on an appropriate constitutional remedy for you, a homeopath will spend hours talking with you in order to understand all that he can about you as a whole. The homeopath will then prescribe a single remedy to aid your overall health and well-being.
Many times, however, you get acute illness that can be successfully treated with a remedy just for the specific cough or flu that you have. Deciding which remedy may only require a quick 10 minute conversation with your homeopath. You can often go to local health food stores to pick up these remedies.

Remember, the real strength in homeopathy lies with a constitutional remedy selected specifically for you and all of your individual symptoms. Many times your homeopath will just suggest taking more of your constitutional remedy when you have a cold. After a time under successful homeopathic care, most people have many fewer acute illnesses. However, acute illness is a natural part of life and health. Getting over a cold or a flu is the body’s way to exercise and strengthen its natural defenses.
Although colds and flus are part of life, remedies can lessen the severity and impact, and reduce the number of days of missed school or work.
